Q: How do I make the DVD Player in my 2009 Dodge Ram work in Drive?
I just bought a 2009 Dodge Ram that has the uConnect GPS head unit. This unit also plays DVDs, but the DVDs will only play in Park. I'm taking a road trip this weekend and would like to use the DVD feature for the drive. Does anyone know how to disable the DVD player from only working in park?

A: It's actually illegal to override this safety feature.

I just bought a 2009 1500 Ram with the satellite radio/ nav system. It plays DVD's also but not while in drive. How do I change this so it will work in drive? I don't have the back seat screen so the only one is the dash screen. My kids love to watch DVD's during long drives and I need this to work while driving.

A: if you,ll get a repair manual on it it has the wiring diagram in and when you find the safety shut off wire for it you can wire it in to a strait feed or off the ignition switch,it can be done its just not advisable to do though,i don't have a manual on the 09 models or i could give you the color code for the wires you need to change,good luck.

A: Trucks are not made for top speed, they are designed and built for towing. The have a governor on them that will top out at probably 100 or 115 mph.

Q: Buying a new Dodge Ram...?
I'm looking to buy a new 2009 Dodge Ram 1500. The 4.7 L V8 gets 17 mpg and the 5.7 L Hemi gets 20 mpg. The 4.7L can be run on E85 but the Hemi cannot. I'm kind of a green head and am a little confused as to which choice would be more environmentally friendly. Would the E85 in a lesser fuel efficient engine be friendlier? Or would a regular gasoline in a more fuel efficient engine be friendlier?

A: E85 isn't worth it, vehicles that run E85 get poorer fuel economy and they drive up the price of corn, beef and milk and many other things. I wouldn't call E85 green. E85 maybe cleaner out the exhaust, but it creates tons more pollution to make E85 for your vehicle. Stay away from E85, it's just a joke that's being pushed by the government and companies to make you think they're doing something about the environment and high fuel prices. Just get the Hemi, it's more powerful and it's more fuel efficient. It's not the most environmentally friendly choice, but it's the better of the two engines. If you really want to go "green", you probably shouldn't be looking at any truck.

Q: 2009 F150 had a problem while off roading?
Heres me story:Me and a co-worker took our new trucks, (mine a 2009 F150, his a 2009 Dodge Ram), off-roading. Everything was going great both of us were easily handling all the obstacles. So one BIG obstacle comes up, a huge hill with lots of rocks and trees in the way. So my friend with the 2009 Ram decides to show off and go first. He made it up the hill with no real big problems. So I then attempted to do the same. I made it about half way up when I had to drive over this pretty large tree/log. There was A LOT of flex going on, with my 4X4 going when "SNAP"!!! all of a sudden. The engine was still running but my front wheels would not budge. Im not sure whats going on with my new truck. Maybe the 4X4 went out? And yeah I got S*** from my friend with the Ram. Please help

I am wanting to buy a new truck and i came across a 2009 Dodge Ram 1500. It has a 5.7L Hemi V8 and comes loaded with a lot. Are dodge trucks reliable? I think i heard somewhere that Dodge trucks have a lot of problems. Is that true? Please help me decide

A: I have honestly tried them all. (Dodge, Ford, and GMC). The ford was always in the shop and leaving me on the side of the road more than once. The GMC also had several issues. Left me on the side of the road and in intersections more than once. There was no mechanic that could even find the problem with the GMC. I then went to Dodge. Other than their front ends, I love their trucks. Ball joints went at 60000 km. My husband was in an accident and rolled this truck on its roof. When it was put back on its tires, it started like nothing happened. Smoking of course. Only a Dodge.

Q: Dodge Guys, do you like the new Ram?
I was curious, do you guys like the new Ram (2009), or do you prefer an older year model? What do you like/dislike about it? I am partial to the 02-08, I have always been a Sierra/Silverado fan, but the Ram is starting to grow on me.

A: Yep, I loved the "big-rig" Ram when it came out in '94, and I didn't think it was possible to make a better-looking truck! But they did it with the '02-'08, (though the Mega-Cab looks pretty ugly). The new Ram looks really good too, but a little too much like the new Ford Super-Duty for my liking. I've always been a Dodge fan, but the current Ford Super-Dutys, Chevys, and GMCs are pretty much on a par, looks-wise. So my answer is yes, the new Ram looks great!
